Here are my Sinclair ZX Spectrum specific notes of my RetroPie system.
- RetroPie ZX Spectrum wiki
 - FUSE
- TODO: Update to RetroArch based lr-fuse

UPDATE: I currently use Windows emulating Spectrum.
Games
I do not recommend downloading old software or other assets using these links.
- Game ROMs
 - Game manuals
 - RetroPie
- Extract .zip → .tzx or .tap to
~/RetroPie/roms/zxspectum/ - If game comes on multiple tapes, move additional images to
~/RetroPie/roms/zxspectrum/.MoreTapes
 - Extract .zip → .tzx or .tap to

Autostart
Skip this section, if RetroArch based FUSE is installed.
For non-libretro FUSE, the autostart of games is not configured. To enable it:
nano /etc/emulationstations/es_systems.cfg- Add %ROM%:
<command>/opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh 1 "fuse-sdl %ROM%" "fuse"</command>
- Add %ROM%:

Configuration
Skip this section, if RetroArch based FUSE is installed.
- F1 —> Options —> General - Fastloading (OFF for realism)
- Show statusbar (OFF)

 - (configure joystick, see the following section)
 - SAVE (at main menu)

Controllers
Competition Pro is one of the best joysticks for Spectrum games.

Spectrum did not have a proper joystick port, so configuring joystick to games is a bit of a hassle. This often works:
- F1 → Joysticks → Joystick 1 → Cursor
 - In game, choose “Customize keys” (or something like that)

Scanlines
TODO (some shades available in FUSE and with libretro-based they are also possible).
Emulator commands
- F1 → Menu
 - F10 → Exit
