Installing Ubuntu [Retro-PC series]

Ubuntu on my Retro-PC has not much retro in it, but I use Linux as an easy gateway for installing and managing GRUB (…and possibly creating full backups of my other operating systems). I decided to go with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.

During the install, make sure you do not accidentally destroy the partitions you created earlier when preparing for multi-OS setup. Picking “Use something else” is the right choice here:

After telling the Ubuntu installer what partition to use for Ubuntu and what for the swap, the situation looked something like this.

HINT! If you manage to forget your Ubuntu password, no fear, you can restore it.
