Fixing the Amstrad FD-1 disk drive

The major problem with the Amstrad CPC disk drives is a perished drive belt. You could also have an issue with a dirty read/write head or dried out lubrication of the head controller.

Luckily fixing these issues take 15..30 minutes, and you are very likely to get your lovely drive fully functional again (I fixed two drives, and they now work perfectly).

Be careful not to lose the write-protect pin, if your drive has one (mine did not)!
